The top section of this page tells of Jessica and Natasha's continued successes using our supplements on their ponies. It has been very exciting for us to watch their progress over the past few years. If you want to see why they started as customers jump to here:

To view a video clip of Jessica and Pendini winning the 128(12.2) championship on the 1st day at the Pony of the Year Show for riders who are 12yrs old or under. She also won another 128 championsips and the Small Grand Prix. What a great show Jess! Please use the below video display:

Hi Malcolm and gang,

As you know we had an amazing POYS starting with Jess and Pendini winning the 128 championship on Friday and then winning the 128 small grand prix on Sunday and then they came 3rd in the 128 main grand prix on Monday - she had the fastest time in the 3rd round but had the last fence down. She had to go for it as she was first in with lots of good ponies following her. The icing on the cake was winning the 128 leading rider of the show.

Tasha had a unlucky pole down week. But the pony she was riding was a novice who only started jumping BSJA 7 weeks ago so was pretty wide eyed at what was going on and had 1 down every day but jumped well and is one for the future. Tasha gave him a lovely ride every day and we were proud of them both.

Hi Malcolm and Co,

Jess and Pendini qualified for the Royal International at Hickstead on Sunday. They jumped a fab triple clear and came 2nd. Pendini is now 20 years old and showed that she has plenty left in the tank, is supple and full of running. Your superb combination of everything in Winning Edge Gold Extra is supplying her with everything she needs to keep her competing at the highest level. She qualified proudly wearing her red saddlecloth!!

Many thanks

Rachel

Jessica gets first and second at SCOPE 2009!

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better Jessica Hewitt went one better than her win in 2008 by finishing first and second at this years 10 and unders competition. Her mum, Rachel reports:

Hi Malcolm,

Jessica had a brill scope as you know, in the qualifying rounds for the Tiny Tots final (used to be called golden bears but is sponsored by someone else now!) she came 2nd (Bunny) and 4th (Coco) to qualify for the main ring and then in the 2nd days qualifiers she came 16th on Rosie to qualify her too so that meant 3 in the final. Fred had a good week but was recovering from having a shoulder out of place so we didn't push him hard and he was 8th in the primary 12.2 class and 8th in the national 12.2 class.

In the final on Sat evening Jess got all 3 through to the jump off with Bunny being the first of them, Bunny set a stonking fast time and did all possible turns which meant the others trying to chase it and making mistakes. Next of Jessica's was Green Gem Coco and she had nothing to lose and went foot to the metal knocking half a second off Bunny's time putting her in 1st and 2nd but there were still some fast ponies to come. There was a bit of a heartstopping moment when one went faster but paid the price and had a fence down. Jess then went in on Rosie but trying to do a historic 1,2,3 she set off like her pants were on fire and had the first fence down so it wasn't to be. It was amazing to be crowned champion again and be reserve champion. We have looked through past SCOPE results and although the website is pants we think that no one has ever come 1st and 2nd and also think that no one has won it 2 years on the trot. It's Jess' last year in the 10 and unders so this was a brilliant way to go out of the class.

The pony that she won it on belongs to a lady called Michelle Poole, Coco was given to Jess to ride 3 weeks before SCOPE as Michelle's daughter didn't like riding him much as he was forward going, running to the fences and didn't like to be ridden to them.  He liked to be the boss! We put him on WE and although he is still forward and full of running he definitely thought about what he was doing and responded to Jess riding him instead of just running madly round. Everyone was chuffed to bits with him including his owners whose daughter came 3rd in the final on one of her other ponies. Coco is staying with us until he is sold but we are going to see if he will now jump 12.2 national classes as we believe he has the scope as long as we can keep him thinking about what he is doing.

The owner of Coco is being trained by someone who doesnt believe in supplements etc., you know the sort, so I think it is up to us to try to change their minds so keep your fingers crossed that Coco carries on improving as she could be a very good customer if we can get her on our side!!

Will email A couple of pics tonight,

Thanks again

Rachel

16th February 2009

Hi Malcolm,
Great news - Jess and Fred qualified for the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead yesterday. They were brill jumping a fab triple clear with the 3rd round standing at 1m20. She was placed 3rd and is the youngest to qualify this year on the youngest pony. It is a class for 12.2 and under ponies and 12yrs and under children (Jess is just 9) . Only 25 qualify over 5 weekends. Jess also got chosen for the style and performance finals at The Pony of the Year Show. They pick the best 20 children aged 10 and under for the finals held over 4 days. So all in all an absolutely fabulous weekend.  The Winning Edge Extra is definitely doing the job with Fred, keep producing it we think it's a winner!!!!!
Malcolm Green comments: We will keep producing WINNINGEDGE EXTRA and offering it to the small number of horses that seem to benefit from its slightly different nutrient balance.

Nine year old Jessica Hewitt won the 2008 Golden Bears championships (for riders aged 10 and under) at SCOPE 2008. Riding the six year old Laithehill Tarragon (Fred), who she produced herself from a four year old, she blitzed the field beating the next fastest pony by 2.5 seconds.

She also qualified Duncrynes Jungle Bunny for the jump off but, having already set a really fast pace on Fred, she dropped one fence trying to go for first and second place!

All the Hewitt's ponies get WINNINGEDGE Gold and you can read about the effect of this product on all Jessica's and her older sister Natasha's ponies below. Any 'pony parents' should be interested in both the safety gains and the performance benefits!

This section was started in 2007

Jessica and Natasha Hewitt, 8 and 10 respectively, love their ponies. They come home from school, leave a trail of clothes through the house, get into their jods and rush out to the ponies.

The girls are very fortunate in having a number of ponies to ride and their parents had noticed that they seemed to be avoiding Spring -a 13 yo chestnut mare with over £450 in BSJA winnings. So Spring was put onto Cool, Calm and Collected and, with no prompting, the girls started riding her again. Now all the Hewitt's ponies are on WINNINGEDGE Gold and this has enabled them to keep riding some very experienced old hands. Dickens (30*) is back in regular work after a long lay-off and Inch High (pictured at top with Poppy and above right juming with Jessica onboard) is still jumping 1.28 metre tracks aged 32 and with over £12,500 of BSJA winnings.

These talented girls compete all over the country and the picture (right) shows Jessica on Laithehill Tarragon (Fred) and Natasha on Laithehill Gallant (Fred's sire) showing off their rosettes from SCOPE 2007.

Gallant was particularly difficult when they first got him - regularly refusing - but WINNINGEDGE Gold has transformed him into a pony who concentrates on his job, remains focussed and gets results!

    * Just as we put this story onto the website we hear that Dickens passed away quietly in his sleep.

To the right is a picture of Poppy, showname Poppyfields Nutcracker, and Natasha. She is a 13.2hh 8yrs grey mare who was bought as a novice in Oct 06. Since then she has gone from strength to strength winning nearly £500 BSJA. She has qualified for blue chip finals, where she won the JC/JD final and also the pony of the year show where she got an equal 1st and a placing, She also qualified for the British novice finals and the progressive finals at the SCOPE festival of showjumping where she was placed every day. These are classes for children 16yrs and under and ponies 14.2hh and under so Natasha definitely held her own at 10yrs old.

Winning Edge Gold has helped Poppy concentrate and remain focused on her job, making life easier for Natasha when she is riding her but also easier for me (Mum - Rachel Hewitt) as she now stands still to be dealt with and travels calmly. She has maintained her weight much easier which was previously a problem and her coat and feet have improved. We hope that Poppy is a star in the making and with the help of Winning Edge and our trainer Rachael Williams we are looking forward to the future with her.

The Hewitts are also able to illustrate what happens when you run out of supplement for a few weeks!:

Hi Malcolm, thanks ever so much for the latest delivery, which as I think John mentioned was much needed!
I have a little tub that I refill from the large pack of winning edge gold to make it easier and thought that I had some left in it, wrong!! The ponies were deprived of it for approx 2 weeks, we didn't see any change at home and thought that the gap wouldn't show too much as some would be on it's way from yourselves. How wrong were we! It started when we were travelling to the show on Saturday and Bunny who had at last become less of a stress head started to get restless and banged on the partitions in the lorry and didn't settle until we pulled up at the show 2 and a half hrs later.
The show started successfully for Natasha who won and came third in the first class, however Jessica, who is on top form and on fire at the moment on her ponies, had a bad day.
Bunny had turned into a pony who didn't listen, pulled constantly at the reins, ran madly round the arena and wouldn't concentrate on the job, which resulted in fences down and at one stage Jessica having to pull her out of a jump as she was going too fast (despite jess pulling) to safely jump it.

Fred, although not as obvious as Bunny, also was doing his best to ignore Jess and consequently had a fence down in every class. This was a disaster for Jess as she is on amazing form at the moment and of course cost us a lot on entry fees. Bunny and Fred were both also hard to warm up as they were both very hot headed and too excitable to concentrate.
I think that Natasha managed to keep some sort of form as she is bigger than Jess and able to react quickly to changes but after the first class also had a fence down in every class.
I have seriously learnt my lesson and will make sure we don't run out again as it not only cost money on entry fees but also Jess lost a bit of confidence in both her ponies and her own ability.
I only have the pic of Jess and Bunny in the presentation at the show where she won the mountain horse class at the moment which I have attached, but I will get John to take some pics at the weekend similar to the ones we sent of the other ponies.

Thanks again,

Rachel and gang

Here is Rachel's report on Bunny from earlier:

Hi Malcolm,
Breaking news, I have clipped Bunny with no, yes no sedation! When she first arrived at the mere sight of getting out the extension lead she would become aggressive and rear up pawing the air, she would go for us either kicking or biting, anything but let us clip her, I have clipped many ponies over the past 20years and have never seen a reaction so severe. The first time we clipped her we had only had her for 1month and had to sedate her to prevent her from any more stress and to keep us safe. After 3months on winning edge she seems to be able to control her stress levels better and with the help of some cordless quiet clippers she let me clip her all over!!!! This may seem a small thing to many people but to us it is a milestone as we were told we would never clip her without sedation and this was from very knowledgeable horse people who had tried. It is not only stopping her getting stressed but is also saving me an £80 vet bill everytime.
Also, Bunny (Duncrynes Jungle Bunny) has had a fantastic career winning many national finals and accumulating over £10500 BSJA winnings, she was sold 16months ago after coming 3rd in the national under 10 final and was still at the height of her career. The people who bought her for reasons unknown to us did not get on with her and she lost all her form to the point of nearly destroying her reputation and getting known for the wrong reasons! Her naturally aggressive nature had got worse and also her itching was very bad. We took Bunny on and with the help and advice from yourselves immediately put her on WINNINGEDGE Gold and Itch Magic to help her itching. Bunny has gone from strength to strength winning over £150 in 3 months with a tiny 8yr old jockey, she has qualified for the winter 2nd rounds, won the prestigious Mountain Horse 128 final and been placed everytime out to a show against many of the countries top ponies with older more experienced jockeys. She is looking and feeling well eager to do her job and canters into the ring with her ears forward.
Hope this could give others some confidence in your product as we think it has been a main contributing factor to getting Bunny back on track.

Rachel and family

When they first acquired Jungle Bunny she was very difficult to control. WINNINGEDGE Gold changed all that and this picture shows Bunny and Jessica winning the Mountain Horse Championships. Here is Rachel's report:

Hi Malcolm,

Just a quick update and a pic of Jessica and Jungle Bunny winning the 12.2 mountain horse championship, a competition for ponys 12.2hh and under and riders 12 and under, she was competing against the best kids in the country and became the youngest ever champion (8 yo). Bunnys general itching has eased, she still itches a lot when she has been worked and is sweaty around her saddle area but has improved a lot. I'm wondering if the itching as soon as the saddle is removed is a habit she will always do or if she has some sort of reaction to sweat. I wondered what your thoughts on this were.
I will keep you updated on progress,

Thanks

Rachel
