Show Jumping - Tanya Waterhouse
Dear Malcolm,
Having started my third pack of WINNINGEDGE Gold, I now feel confident enough to write regarding my experience of this product and its effect on my 15 year old ISH mare.
I started using the product on the advice of a close friend who had been using WINNINGEDGE Gold for a year with great results. My problems started in March this year when my mare was diagnosed with a suspensory ligament injury which meant a long period of rest before being slowly brought back into work and fitness. Luckily, I had a wonderful vet and my mare responded really well to the shock wave treatment resulting hopefully in a return to full activity (we are well on the way at this juncture). During her schooling yesterday, she was able to accomplish collected and medium paces, half pass and counter canter with no sign of any discomfort and indeed she appeared much more relaxed and able to use her whole frame far more than she had ever done.
Dexey has always been an anxious horse who worried about everything – not spooky or difficult or marish, just worried about what may be asked of her, especially noticeable in competitions or when doing something new or something she had not done for some time. She is also a good doer who needs very careful attention to her diet so it has always been a concern to ensure that she has all the nutrients she needs without the calories. It was a golden opportunity to get some weight off whilst her eating was in my control, so over the last few months, I had been feeding the WINNINGEDGE Gold with just chaff – didn't look very inviting but my suspicious mare who believes I am trying to poison her every time I put something new in her feed, never had a problem eating it from day one. During her return to sufficient fitness, we have entered her in a few classes at local shows and have never returned without a rosette in the top 4 – not bad for a horse just coming back to fitness after a long spell in the stable and consequent loss of muscle tone!
Also after a rather anxious start, for the last few months, she has been quite happy in her stable all day, even when the other horses in a very busy yard have been turned out. Her routine is one quiet ride plus one work per day with a graze in hand, and she accepts this not just quietly and calmly, but she appears very happy. I do have a theory that as a bossy alpha mare, she is under less stress in her stable and is happy getting looked after rather than having to look after her herd.
In any event, her calm acceptance of her enforced rest, her return to work with the same attitude and physical looseness and fast regaining topline and other muscle tone, may well be a coincidence but let me say, I am not about to stop using WINNINGEDGE Gold any time soon!!!
Having said all this, the main point of me writing is to say that I have found it necessary to contact you on three occasions (much in the mode of anxious mum!). Never once have a felt that my horse was not just as important as all the Olympic horses and stars on your web site and brochures and I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for giving my mare the same consideration as I feel you would give to anyone and also for all the advice and help which I felt went far beyond the norm, to assist me in bringing my mare back to what I hope will be a great future.
Thank you again and best wishes
Yours faithfully,
Tanya Waterhouse,
